To define the base container:

1. Click Select next to Base Component in the Packaging Component section.
2. When the dialog box appears, select the packaging type from the drop down menu that will be used to ship the part number specified at the top of the sheet. If your packaging type is not in the drop down list, see Add New Packaging Type.
3. If that packaging type is currently sourced from only one vendor, the packaging item field will automatically be populated for you.  If that packaging type is sourced through more than one vendor, choose the vendor specific packaging item number from the drop down list.

Note: After selecting your base container the appropriate dimensions will be populated on the bottom of the PDS.

3. Click Update to save your base container selection and return to the PDS.
