Defining Resource Constraints for a Production Family
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The resource constraints tab is a way to capture what constrains a supplier from producing more parts. The resource constraints tab contains required fields as highlighted in yellow if the production family demand to maximum capacitiy ratio is greater than 85%.

With the Resource Constraints tab selected:

  1. Select whether the resources for this production family are shared with other customers.
  2. Describe any bottleneck resources that exist in the Bottle Neck Resource comment field.
  3. Describe your current capacity constraints that exist using the Capacity Constraint Supplier Explanation comment field.
  4. The Capacity Constraint Customer comment field is available for your customer to provide you feedback.
  5. Describe your Capacity Growth Plan
    -Possible capacity resolutions
-How resolution would impact your growth multiple
-Lead time to add growth multiple
-What is the potential max capacity after implementation of capacity resolution
  6. Click Lead-Time Defaults tab if you want to store lead time defaults for the Production Family. See Using a Production Family to Set Lead Time Defaults.
  7. Or Click Create if lead time defaults are not applicable for the production family.
